
♦ Jaubertie was named after a little stream on the property.
Over time Jaubertie was:
♦ Neolithic period (400 BC): remains show the presence of an encampment.
♦ 12th century: known as a small “Fief”.
♦ 16th century: a hunting lodge for Henry IV who donated Jaubertie to Gabrielle d’estrée.
♦ From 1658 to 1858: owned by the de Calbiac family, except during the French Revolution, by Docteur Leon Beylet, Queen Marie Antoinette’s favourite docteur.
♦ The latter finished the construction in the Directoire style, a “Folie“ built for his mistress, a dancer.
♦ End 18th-Beginning 19th: an evolution can be noticed with the below painting (1853). the adjacent pavillons were separated from the main building and in 1916, due to a fire the “fronton” was modified as it can be seen today.
♦ Since 1973, the property has been owned by various members of the Ryman family.
♦ The property has been classified as “Monument Historique” in 2005.
